AI and robotics collaboration
Artificial intelligence can help draft lesson materials, generate practice, translate or adapt content, provide tutoring, organize feedback, summarize data, and support teacher planning. Teachers must check accuracy, protect student data, recognize bias, maintain academic integrity, and decide when direct human instruction, discussion, or struggle is educationally necessary.
Likely automation changes
Routine worksheet generation, first-pass feedback, administrative writing, practice tutoring, translation, and some grading support may become increasingly automated, allowing teachers to prepare materials and personalize practice more efficiently. This is expected to transform the task mix rather than eliminate teaching. Human teachers remain important for relationships, motivation, classroom leadership, oral discussion, social learning, mentoring, safeguarding, assessment judgment, curriculum choices, and helping students develop agency rather than dependency on artificial intelligence. Automated tutoring or grading should be reviewed according to the stakes and reliability of the task, especially where student progression, discipline, accommodations, or well-being are affected. Schools and educators remain accountable for educational decisions and student welfare.
